ABOUT

Firefighterskills.com is for professional and aspiring firefighters alike. The mission is to bridge the gap between National Performance Based Skills Curriculum, the firefighting educators modeling performance based skills, and the firefighters and cadets mastering their craft. The overarching objectives to meet this mission are 1) to encourage progressive conversations amongst firefighters, 2) to implement lessons learned in continuing education, and 3) to cultivate continuity in the firefighting industry via state-of-the-art interactive training modules.

Firefighterskills.com, LLC and The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF) are collaborating to bring you After The Fire (ATF): a Firefighter Line of Duty Death (LODD) Incident Podcast with the goal of reducing the number of fire ground fatalities by learning from the unintended outcomes of our industry’s LODDs and near misses. The ATF Podcast is dedicated to the remembrance of fallen firefighters and the comprehensive review of LODDs and near misses, intimately reliving the LODD experience through interviews of the boots on the ground and the Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) connected to the incident. Firefighters and SMEs share experiences of fire ground decisions, tactics, and strategies, and reflect on ways they have enhanced the fire service through LODD-related analysis and education.
